Roof Garden Cafe

Most people wouldn't call the Upper East Side trendy, but thanks to the Roof Garden Cafe at The Met, it might just be becoming that. Here, high atop the trees of Central Park, with a sweeping view of the rolling green grass, locals and tourists, and young and old mix to take in the drinks and the sculpture installations, not to mention the cafe's snacks, salads, and sandwiches.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Ave at 82nd St; 212-535-7710; Subway; 4, 5, 6 to 86th St.
