Veselka

This East Village mainstay is the ultimate 24-hour restaurant. Head here for dinner and you'll be greeted by a bevy of delicious options. If you'd like to go Ukranian, you're in luck; it's the restaurant's speciality. Order up a plate of potato pancakes and your stomach will thank you. The golden brown pancakes are delicious, and you can dip them in apple sauce or sour cream for authenticity and a welcome contrast in tastes. A bowl of borscht should also fill you up, as will potato, perogies and blintzes.

They also offer a nice selection of sandwiches and burgers, in addition to some salads. Breakfast is of course served 24-hours a day, so you can roll in at 4am and sop up all the alcohol you've been ingesting, with delicious golden pancakes (not potato!), eggs or french toast.

During warm weather months,

144 Second Ave at 9th St; 212-228-9682; 6 to Astor Pl.
