Take a short ferry from south street seaport or Red Hook, Brooklyn. It's like Central Park all the way downtown and surrounded by water. Great for hiking, and there are often live outdoor concerts there too. Could be romantic... or sporty hike... or amazing setting for live music, which is all-the-better for having arrived by boat. (Only drawbacks: boats are on a set schedule and some of them cost $10, others are free).
