Located on Williamsburg's south side, this romantic restaurant serves New American cuisine. For appetizers, we suggest the Warm Artichoke Heart Salad ($11), with fresh cranberry beans, baby arugula, parmesan, and an artichoke vinaigrette, and the Pan Roasted Quail ($12), served with mill stone-ground grits, crisp country ham, and wild mushrooms. All the entree offerings on the dinner menu look delicious and inviting; we chose the Roasted Free Range Chicken ($20), served with housemade potato dumplings, swiss chard, portobello mushrooms and pearl onions, and the Wild Stripped Bass ($24), with braised endive, tomato, olives, and basil. A melt-in-your-mouth Banana Souffle–passion fruit caramel and roasted banana sorbet–polished off the meal.
Dressler also offers Sunday brunch and has a fairly extensive drinks menu, including draft and bottled beer, and cocktails like The Brooklyn ($11), made with rye, marachino, and an orange twist. Our brunch picks include the Eggs Dressler ($11)–yukon gold potato galette, smoked salmon, crème fraiche, hollandaise and fine herbs, and homefries and friends, and the Housemade Granola & Yogurt ($8).
