Though the portions at this East Village soul food restaurant can be on the small side, the waitstaff is amiable and the food delicious. Main dishes–think chicken, catfish, salmon, etc–and the sides–mac and cheese, candied yams, broccoli, etc–combine to create two distinctly different flavors that blend so well together. For dessert, we suggest the apple pie, whose caramel topped crust is excellent.
